1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers Currents website visitors, account holders,
member portal users, support contacts, and people who interact with
Currents partner or marketing routes.
Currents is the controller for the Currents website, account flow,
member portal, support routes, and marketing records described in
this policy, unless a third-party service says it is responsible
for its own product, platform, or privacy policy.
Contact Currents at support@joincurrents.io for privacy questions,
access requests, deletion requests, or marketing preference
questions.
2. Data we may collect
We may collect identifiers and contact details, such as your email
address, name, account id, login status, account path, campaign
details, consent status, marketing preference, support messages,
and disclosure acknowledgements.
This includes account, contact, and support details needed to run
your Currents account, answer requests, and keep a record of the
notices shown to you.
We may collect portal and account-flow data, such as page visits,
signup context, button clicks, broker choices, server
choices, account login labels, account status, Copy Trading
requests, and open-trade acknowledgements.
If you enter broker connection details, we may process the details
needed for the check or connection you request. Current safety
flows redact, hash, or avoid storing raw trading passwords unless a
later secure connection flow clearly says otherwise and you confirm
it.
We may collect technical and security data such as device and
browser details, IP-derived information, timestamps, referral
path, campaign information, logs, API status, error reports, and
security or abuse signals.
3. Why we use data
We use data to operate Currents, provide login and portal access,
record consent, respond to requests, show account state, check
broker connection details, handle Copy Trading requests, keep
safety and audit records, improve the website, understand which
channels are working, prevent misuse, and meet legal or regulatory
requirements.
We also use data to keep private admin records, customer review
notes, operational alerts, and safety checks accurate. These tools
help Currents operate carefully and do not by themselves send
emails, create invoices, change account connections, or make trades.
4. Lawful basis
Depending on the situation, we may rely on consent, contract,
legitimate interests, or legal obligation as our lawful basis for
processing personal data.
For marketing emails, Currents relies on the consent and notice
shown when you continue, sign up, or otherwise give permission, or
another lawful route that applies at the time of collection. You
can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
5. Login, consent, and marketing
When you continue with Currents, we record the page, button, Terms
version, Privacy version, marketing notice version, and consent
state in account metadata where supported. This helps prove which
notice applied when you signed up.
Marketing emails may include product updates, account prompts,
partner routes, onboarding help, education, and Currents news. You
can unsubscribe from marketing. We may still send account,
security, legal, support, and service messages.
Marketing messages should identify Currents or the sender, avoid
misleading subject lines, include an opt-out method, and include a
valid postal address where required. Currents will respect
marketing opt-out requests and keep suppression records so the
preference can be honoured.
6. Sharing data
We may share data with service providers that help run the website,
hosting, authentication, database, secure broker-connection checks,
email, analytics, security, customer
support, attribution, monitoring, compliance, legal, accounting,
or payment processes.
Active or planned providers may include account-login, hosting,
database, broker infrastructure, account-operation, and private
monitoring or alerting tools. Email, support, analytics, KYC, and
payment providers may be added when those flows are activated.
If you choose to use a partner platform, that platform processes
your data under its own privacy policy and terms. Currents is not
responsible for a third party's privacy practices.
7. Partner and attribution data
Currents may use referral, campaign, affiliate, or partner tracking
to understand whether a visitor later signs up with a partner
platform. Partner links will be disclosed when used.
Currents does not currently sell personal information. Currents
does not currently share personal information for cross-context
behavioural advertising. If that changes, we will update this
policy and provide any required opt-out controls.
8. Cookies and analytics
Currents may use essential cookies and security tools to keep the
website working. If Currents adds non-essential cookies, tracking
pixels, or analytics that require consent, the website will add the
appropriate notice and controls before they are used.
9. Retention
Currents will keep personal data only for as long as needed for
the reason it was collected, including legal, compliance,
accounting, security, and dispute-resolution needs.
Consent records, audit records, support records, broker connection
fingerprints, billing records, and trading-related records may need
to be kept longer where legal, regulatory, accounting, dispute, or
security reasons require it.
10. Security
Currents uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to
protect personal data, including server-side access checks,
redaction, hashing, no-store responses for sensitive reads, and
private admin access checks where appropriate.
Currents does not use broker passwords, account credentials,
private keys, seed phrases, recovery phrases, or similar sensitive
access details for advertising or cross-context behavioural
advertising.
No website, broker, exchange, database, or online service can
guarantee perfect security.
11. International processing
Currents and the services we use may process data in different countries.
Where required, Currents will use appropriate safeguards for
international transfers.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the data involved, you may have
rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive
a copy of your personal data. You may also have rights to withdraw
consent, opt out of marketing, or appeal a privacy-rights decision.
California residents may also have rights to know what personal
information is collected, used, shared, or sold; to correct
inaccurate personal information; to delete personal information; to
opt out of sale or sharing where applicable; to limit certain uses
of sensitive personal information where applicable; and to avoid
discrimination for using privacy rights.
To exercise those rights, contact support@joincurrents.io. We may
need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
13. Children
Currents is not intended for children. Please do not use Currents if you
are not legally old enough to use the website, portal, broker, or
Copy Trading services in your location.
14. Changes
Currents may update this policy when account creation, contact
routes, analytics, partner tracking, marketing, partner links,
broker connection flows, billing, support, or account-connection operations
change.
